I am directed by lir. Seoretery Lyttelton to inform you that he has received a request from the Secretary of the Hong Kong War Memorial Fund that curtain beneficiaries under the fund, resident in the United Kingdom, may be visited periodically and a report sent on their general economic position.

2.

As the beneficiarios concerned are also in receipt of pensions or allowances from United Kingdom funds, it is possible that your Department has required them to furnish such a statement, possibly at intervals, since the Fund's awards were made.

3. I am to enclose a list of the beneficiaries concerned and to enquire whether your Department prepares reports on these particular cases and, if so, whether it would be possible to furnish the Committee of the Hong Kong War Memorial Fund with the same particulars for their purpose.
